Generation 6

	Notes for Dale Robert Shank: General Notes: The Shank Family of Adams County Illinois comes from the Schenck Family that came to the United States on August 24, 1717. This Schenck Family was exiled from their home of Eggiwil, Canton Bern, Switzerland in October 1671 and relocated to Osthoven Germany with many other Mennonite families. Pushed out from there they made their way, through Rotterdam, Holland to the New World. Settling in Lancaster County, PA after arriving through Philadelphia; the Schencks made their way through Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, and finally to Illinois splintering and growing through the generations. The Shank Family which I am connected too came out of the end of this migration. Converting into contemporary Protestant faiths, these families settled in Adams and Brown Counties in Illinois growing and writing their own history in the communities of Clayton, Timewell, Golden, Mt. Sterling, Camp Point, and Quincy.
